Atelier Lieverse

The Dutch artist Christiaan Lieverse, born in 1971, had his first solo exhibition in 2000 and achieved international success in 2005. His work includes abstract as well as figurative and experimental contemporary art, which is presented at major international exhibitions. Using a unique technique that he has refined over the years, Lieverse manages to ensure the authenticity and distinctiveness of his works. Layering different colours and materials creates depth, transparency and three-dimensional effects. The combination of rough linen, dynamic palette knife application and fine brushwork is characteristic of his work and provides the subtle differences in each piece, both intentional and intuitive.
